L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Dual Action Moisturiser Review

OMG!!! Isn't this just THE most gorgeous PR package ever!

L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Dual Action Moisturiser
& Pretty Little Flowers Roses Box

And it gets better!

Not only is the package absolutely stunning but after I recovered from my swooning at the beautiful roses I realised that nestled in the middle was the perfect moisturiser for my 40+ year old skin - the L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Dual Action Total Rejuvenation Moisturiser!

The L'Oreal Revitalift Laser X3 is a unique moisturiser and different to others I have used in the past in that it contains two separate formulas separated in the one bottle. It's like applying two different anti-ageing products but with the convenience of one!

One push of the pump dispenses both formulas simultaneously. You then mix them together at the last moment to increase their efficacy before applying on your face.

The first formula acts on the skin's surface visibly correcting wrinkles, smoothing and illuminating. It contains 2% Vitamin CG which is the highest concentration in a cream.

The second formula acts on the deeper layers, re-supporting, toning and re-densifying. It contains 6% Pro-Xylane which once again is the highest dosage available!

One formula is white and the other is a peachy pink, hence the beautiful white and red roses combination.

L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Dual Action Moisturiser

I found this product to be lightweight and quite fluid, almost like a lotion.

It absorbed quickly into my skin with no greasy feeling afterwards. My skin felt beautifully hydrated and looked smoother and brighter and hence more youthful after use. My complexion also looked more even. Yay - just what every woman in their 40s and beyond wants!

I've been using this product daily, every morning for five weeks now.

After two weeks I noticed the fine lines around my eye area and on my forehead appeared softer in appearance and my skin felt firmer.

L'Oreal advises the Revitalift Laser X3 is specifically formulated to benefit 40 - 60 year olds. I'm impressed that L'Oreal is now producing products specifically aimed at my age group however I do think 30+ year olds would also benefit from this anti-ageing moisturiser! In my opinion the earlier you start using anti-ageing products like this the better!

This is definitely a product I would happily recommend to others!

5 Australia Day Essentials

Australia Day is normally spent outdoors for me and my family, usually near the water, enjoying the festivities either on Sydney Harbour or at the beach, or quite often both at varying points in the day!

Below are five of my Australia Day essentials.

5 Australia Day Essentials

This is my number one Australia Day essential!

Regular readers of Fabulous and Fun Life would know that I am a strong and passionate advocate of wearing sunscreen given my history of malignant melanoma.

Hamilton is an iconic Australian made and owned sunscreen brand with products perfectly suited to our unique Australian lifestyle. What better brand to wear on Australia Day!

I especially love the dry-touch technology in the Hamilton Active Family SPF50+ Sunscreen. This suncreen is sweat resistant, 4 hours water resistant and offers broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection.

The Hamilton Every Day Face SPF50+ Sunscreen offers very high protection with a sheer tint and a light matte finish. It provides invisible, super comfortable protection for the face and neck.

Australia Day Outfit

I don't consider myself an overly patriotic person most of the year but on Australia Day
I love to get into the spirit of the day by wearing Australian colours.

In previous years I have tried wearing green and yellow, but lets face it green and yellow are not flattering on anyone! Just look at all the ugly green and yellow Olympic uniforms of the past if you need convincing of this!

So by Australian colours I mean blue, white and red, the colours of the Australian flag, which are much more flattering! Australian Olympic Committee take note!

This year I'm tossing up between wearing my Navy Circle Alison blouse or my Red Alison blouse from Kennedy's Boutique on Australia Day. Both tops are loose fitting, cool and super comfortable to wear.

A hat is also an essential for me whenever I'm enjoying the outdoors, especially in Summer.

The above pictured Kmart hat will be firmly on my head on Australia Day giving me added protection from the heat and the damaging rays of the sun.

Australia Day Accessories

Whilst I don't like wearing the actual Australian flag emblazoned over my clothing, I'm more than happy to wear it on my nails on Australia Day, usually as a highlight nail.

These Aussie themed nail wraps are from Jamberry who have nail wraps for every occasion and public holiday including Australia Day.

Also do check out their Valentine's Day nail wraps too.

I am so envious of nail artists who are capable of creating amazing nail art of all descriptons. Unfortunately I have not been blessed with such a talent. That's why I am so grateful for Jamberry nail wraps being available in Australia.

Whenever I want a change from my normal nail polish I reach for my Jamberrys. They are so easy to apply and I love the constantly changing wide variety of designs available.

Australia Day Jamberrys

Hydrating Mist Toner

This might seem like a strange Australia Day essential but trust me, you'll thank me for this one if it's a hot day!

I read a tip on Instagram recently about popping the Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner in the fridge before use which I did.

The following day I was packing drinks, fruit and salads into our esky for a picnic, saw my Hydrating Mist Toner in the fridge and decided to pop it in the esky next to the ice brick.

Well .... BEST. MOVE. EVER!

It was a stinking hot heatwave Summer Day and even sitting in the shade the picnic was HOT! You have got no idea how instantly revitalising, cooling, soothing and refreshing spritzing this cold product onto my face during the picnic was.

Needless to say my bottle emptied significantly as it was passed around every female at the picnic!

Now I wouldn't pop this product into my handbag but if you are taking an esky or cooler bag with you on Australia Day you should try this! Let me know what you think if you do!

1 Kennedys Boutique Alison Blouse Styled 4 Ways

Being a part time working mum with a corresponding part time salary I need my clothes to be capable of double, triple and even quadruple duty!

I need multi-tasking clothing items that are versatile, adapting from casual and smart casual weekend and day-off wear to corporate work wear in an office.

If an item of clothing also allows itself to be dressed up for evening wear then it's a definite winner in my eyes!

Well you'll be glad to know that I have found just such a blouse and I'm more than happy to share my find with you.

It's the Alison blouse from Kennedys Boutique, a lovely local boutique just two suburbs away from me! Luckily for you it also has an online store HERE

The Alison blouse is a simple top with loose fitting and flowing woven rayon fabric which is perfect for beating the Summer heat.

It is flatteringly designed to skim the body hiding all manner of unwanted lumps, and has little cap sleeves that hang perfectly off the body.

It comes in S - XXL sizes and in a wide range of colours and prints including the red I have featured below. Other colours and prints include classic black, lime, navy, navy circle print, green & white print, and aqua print.

The red Alison blouse combines perfectly with denim for a casual weekend look. I choose a denim skirt in this photo but you could just as easily wear it with denim shorts or jeans depending on the temperature and your plans for the day.

In addition to my denim skirt I teamed it with a Kennedys Boutique Scarf to add some extra interest to my outfit and my trusty KMart panama hat.

This oufit is budget friendly with the Kennedys Boutique Alison blouse being priced at $59, the scarf $45 and the hat $12.

Sometimes I need to up my style a bit from completely casual to a smarter casual look.

The Alison blouse easily accommodates the smart casual look. Here I swapped my denim skirt for some smarter white pants and Naturalizer gold snake lace up sandals. A white skirt also works well.

I work three part time days a week in a relaxed corporate office. Although I probably could get away with wearing the above smart casual look to work I do need to look a bit more corporate on other days.

Once again the Alison blouse is easy to adapt for work wear. Here I added black work pants, my black briefcase and black strappy sandals.

I was super excited to realise that this blouse was one of those elusive quadruple duty clothing items that could be styled across the whole spectrum from casual to evening wear.

Here I styled it with my long black maxi skirt, an evening sequinned black clutch and my black lace up Wittner heels.

If you want to check out the other colours and prints available in the Kennedys Boutique Alison blouse click HERE.

Which of the above stylings (casual, smart casual, work or evening) do you prefer?

Do you have any other styling suggestions for me?

2016 Favourite Beauty Products

Happy 2017 everyone!
I'm so excited to be back blogging after my annual holiday break away from all things digital and blogging related!
For my first blog post of 2017 I want to share with you my favourite products from 2016.

I was lucky to be given the opportunity to trial a lot of different products throughout 2016. I also purchased numerous new products with my own money as well as repurchased finished gifted products that I loved.
For a product to make it onto my favourites list I need to have loved it enough to still be using it after the initial trial finished. If I've repurchased it after finishing the original product then it definitely achieves the favourites status required to be included in this list!

This list is grouped into beauty product categories.
For your convenience I have also included online links to where you can buy these products.
2016 Favourite Beauty Products

Regular readers of Fabulous and Fun Life won't be surprised to read that the bhave Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner have made it onto my 2016 favourites list.
These are total holy grail products for me that help keep my hair frizz free and healthy despite my frequent harsh treatment of my hair with regular swims, heat drying and heat styling.
bhave Rescue Shampoo & Conditioner

In 2016 I also first tried the new bhave Super Nova Hair Elixir. This is a true multi-purpose superstar hair product.
You spray it onto your towel dried hair and it effortlessly detangles your hair, fights frizz, repairs and strengthens brittle hair, thickens thinning hair, protects it from UV damage, and adds super shine and softness!
This product has been a true hair saviour for me especially during the Summer months.

I may have only recently received this palette but as soon as I laid my eyes on The Balm's Appetit palette it achieved instantaneous favourite status! I mean seriously beauties, have you seen this gorgeous palette!

My absolute favourite shade from this palette is the totally swoon-worthy Chris B. Bacon shade (last shade, middle row across). Please note that this photo does not do justice to this shimmery shade, it looks a lot more stunning in real life, trust me!

The cut out "Eat Ur Heart Out" layer lifts up to reveal easy to access square pans. If you're looking for a new palette I highly recommend this one! The pigmentation is amazing and the shades can be used dry or wet.

Elizabeth Arden's Grand Entrance mascara has been my clear cut favourite mascara this year. It significantly increases my lash length and volume and also helps curl my lashes giving my eyes a more youthful appearance!

It is easily buildable and can take me from day time to night time depending on the number of layers I use.

After finishing my original gifted Grand Entrance mascara I immediately repurchased it with my own money. I need this mascara in my life!

I reviewed this mascara HERE.

This innovative Lancome Cushion Blush Subtil in Sparkling Framboise is such a flattering shade! It's my new go to blush since discovering it in early 2016.

It also has the benefit of resulting in a lovely dewy youthful looking finish! Yay - as I need all the help I can get!

Choosing my favourite lip products from 2016 was as difficult as choosing my favourite child!

In the end I considered the lip trends of 2016, namely nudes and vibrant lip colour, as well as liquid lipsticks, and this helped narrow down my choices. Even so I ended up picking three favourites.

My first favourite is the Boho Nude lipstick shade from the Rimmel London Lasting Finish By Kate Moss 15th Anniversary Lipstick Collection.

It is a lovely warm caramel toned nude which is also one of Kate Moss's favourite nudes so I'm in good company picking this as one of my favourites!

It is smooth and creamy to apply and comfortable to wear all day.

You can click here to read my full review of this collection and to see swatches of them.

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Bold Liquid Lipstick in Luscious Raspberry ($34)

I love pinks and I love the vibrant shade of this lipstick! I also love the innovative click style of application. You push a lever on the side of the lipstick which then dispenses the correct amount of product onto the flocked tip applicator. This seems like a more hygienic method of dispensing liquid lipstick than other methods I've seen and used.

This high impact colour lipstick has the finish of a gloss. It feels moisturising and comfortable on the lips and is long lasting.

I'll be publishing a more detailed review of these Elizabeth Arden bold liquid lipsticks with swatches within the next couple of weeks so keep an eye out for that post!

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Devotion * ($23.95)

This is another lipstick I have regularly been reaching for since receiving it. It's got a beautiful lightweight moisturising formula that's comfortable to wear. I really don't have time for lipsticks which feel dry and uncomfortable!

The Devotion shade is a lovely rose pink colour that suits my skin tone (and I suspect flatters most people's skin tones). It is the perfect lipstick for every day wear. I've been wearing it to work most days recently!

2016 Favourite Lipsticks

Blistex Happy Lips Lip Balms * ($3.99)

On days I go makeup free, usually weekends when I'm active outdoors, I always apply lip balm to protect my lips.

The fruity mango, strawberry and melon varieties of Blistex Happy Lips lip balms quickly became my favourites. I always have at least one, if not more, of these lip balms in my handbag!

Blistex Happy Lips

Roses de Chloe is a beautiful woody floral fragrance with fresh top notes of roses and bergamot, gradually joined by a heart of damascena rose essence and modernised with a magnolia accord. On the skin it leaves a lovely trail of white musk and amber, a signature of the Chloe house.
This fragrance makes me feel beautiful and graceful, and I always receive compliments when I'm wearing it. It's another definite favourite!
Roses de Chloe

I've been using these Ultraceutical skin care products every evening for only just over 2 months now and I'm already seeing an actual improvement in my skin tone and especially my hyperpigmentation.

Ultraceuticals have a RVR90 program which promises 'Real Visible Results in 90 days'. At the launch for this program Ultraceuticals introduced its real people ambassadors at the event and showed their before photos plus we got to see their real life after treatment results. In a word they were IMPRESSIVE!

Click here to go to the Ultraceuticals website to see some convincing before and after Ultraceutical treatment photos for yourself!

These products are not cheap but they have real proven results and are based on scientific research. They are another definite favourite of mine, I just wish they were cheaper given my part time income!

If you are interested in trying these products I would strongly recommend consulting a skin therapist listed on the Ultraceuticals website here so you can be prescribed relevant effective products for your skin's exact needs, so you are not wasting money on un-necessary products that your skin does not need.

Save Our Skin By Innoxa NoTox Hyaluronic Eye Patches * ($99 for 4 pairs) .

I've been searching for an effective under eye treatment in vain for what seems like years to combat my ever increasing fine lines and wrinkles. The older I get the more I need such a product - lol!

I can finally say that I have found a product that achieves good results and doesn't require any injections. I'm too much of a wuss to try anything injectable!

I have already repurchased these Save Our Skin By Innoxa eye patches. Given my budget I don't use them every day obviously but I do use them the night before any special occasion that I need to attend. If you have any weddings or special parties to attend and want to smooth out your under eye wrinkles for a more youthful effect I can highly recommend these patches!
