Happy 2017 everyone!
I'm so excited to be back blogging after my annual holiday break away from all things digital and blogging related!
For my first blog post of 2017 I want to share with you my favourite products from 2016.
I was lucky to be given the opportunity to trial a lot of different products throughout 2016. I also purchased numerous new products with my own money as well as repurchased finished gifted products that I loved.
For a product to make it onto my favourites list I need to have loved it enough to still be using it after the initial trial finished. If I've repurchased it after finishing the original product then it definitely achieves the favourites status required to be included in this list!
This list is grouped into beauty product categories.
For your convenience I have also included online links to where you can buy these products.

HAIR
Regular readers of Fabulous and Fun Life won't be surprised to read that the bhave Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner have made it onto my 2016 favourites list.
These are total holy grail products for me that help keep my hair frizz free and healthy despite my frequent harsh treatment of my hair with regular swims, heat drying and heat styling.

In 2016 I also first tried the new bhave Super Nova Hair Elixir. This is a true multi-purpose superstar hair product.
You spray it onto your towel dried hair and it effortlessly detangles your hair, fights frizz, repairs and strengthens brittle hair, thickens thinning hair, protects it from UV damage, and adds super shine and softness!
This product has been a true hair saviour for me especially during the Summer months.

EYES
I may have only recently received this palette but as soon as I laid my eyes on The Balm's Appetit palette it achieved instantaneous favourite status! I mean seriously beauties, have you seen this gorgeous palette!
My absolute favourite shade from this palette is the totally swoon-worthy Chris B. Bacon shade (last shade, middle row across). Please note that this photo does not do justice to this shimmery shade, it looks a lot more stunning in real life, trust me!
The cut out "Eat Ur Heart Out" layer lifts up to reveal easy to access square pans. If you're looking for a new palette I highly recommend this one! The pigmentation is amazing and the shades can be used dry or wet.

Elizabeth Arden's Grand Entrance mascara has been my clear cut favourite mascara this year. It significantly increases my lash length and volume and also helps curl my lashes giving my eyes a more youthful appearance!
It is easily buildable and can take me from day time to night time depending on the number of layers I use.
After finishing my original gifted Grand Entrance mascara I immediately repurchased it with my own money. I need this mascara in my life!
I reviewed this mascara HERE.

CHEEKS
This innovative Lancome Cushion Blush Subtil in Sparkling Framboise is such a flattering shade! It's my new go to blush since discovering it in early 2016.
It also has the benefit of resulting in a lovely dewy youthful looking finish! Yay - as I need all the help I can get!

LIPS
Choosing my favourite lip products from 2016 was as difficult as choosing my favourite child!
In the end I considered the lip trends of 2016, namely nudes and vibrant lip colour, as well as liquid lipsticks, and this helped narrow down my choices. Even so I ended up picking three favourites.
My first favourite is the Boho Nude lipstick shade from the Rimmel London Lasting Finish By Kate Moss 15th Anniversary Lipstick Collection.
It is a lovely warm caramel toned nude which is also one of Kate Moss's favourite nudes so I'm in good company picking this as one of my favourites!
It is smooth and creamy to apply and comfortable to wear all day.

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Bold Liquid Lipstick in Luscious Raspberry ($34)
I love pinks and I love the vibrant shade of this lipstick! I also love the innovative click style of application. You push a lever on the side of the lipstick which then dispenses the correct amount of product onto the flocked tip applicator. This seems like a more hygienic method of dispensing liquid lipstick than other methods I've seen and used.
This high impact colour lipstick has the finish of a gloss. It feels moisturising and comfortable on the lips and is long lasting.
I'll be publishing a more detailed review of these Elizabeth Arden bold liquid lipsticks with swatches within the next couple of weeks so keep an eye out for that post!
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Devotion * ($23.95)
This is another lipstick I have regularly been reaching for since receiving it. It's got a beautiful lightweight moisturising formula that's comfortable to wear. I really don't have time for lipsticks which feel dry and uncomfortable!
The Devotion shade is a lovely rose pink colour that suits my skin tone (and I suspect flatters most people's skin tones). It is the perfect lipstick for every day wear. I've been wearing it to work most days recently!

Blistex Happy Lips Lip Balms * ($3.99)
On days I go makeup free, usually weekends when I'm active outdoors, I always apply lip balm to protect my lips.
The fruity mango, strawberry and melon varieties of Blistex Happy Lips lip balms quickly became my favourites. I always have at least one, if not more, of these lip balms in my handbag!

Roses de Chloe is a beautiful woody floral fragrance with fresh top notes of roses and bergamot, gradually joined by a heart of damascena rose essence and modernised with a magnolia accord. On the skin it leaves a lovely trail of white musk and amber, a signature of the Chloe house.
This fragrance makes me feel beautiful and graceful, and I always receive compliments when I'm wearing it. It's another definite favourite!

I've been using these Ultraceutical skin care products every evening for only just over 2 months now and I'm already seeing an actual improvement in my skin tone and especially my hyperpigmentation.
Ultraceuticals have a RVR90 program which promises 'Real Visible Results in 90 days'. At the launch for this program Ultraceuticals introduced its real people ambassadors at the event and showed their before photos plus we got to see their real life after treatment results. In a word they were IMPRESSIVE!

These products are not cheap but they have real proven results and are based on scientific research. They are another definite favourite of mine, I just wish they were cheaper given my part time income!
If you are interested in trying these products I would strongly recommend consulting a skin therapist listed on the Ultraceuticals website here so you can be prescribed relevant effective products for your skin's exact needs, so you are not wasting money on un-necessary products that your skin does not need.

Save Our Skin By Innoxa NoTox Hyaluronic Eye Patches * ($99 for 4 pairs) .
I've been searching for an effective under eye treatment in vain for what seems like years to combat my ever increasing fine lines and wrinkles. The older I get the more I need such a product - lol!
I can finally say that I have found a product that achieves good results and doesn't require any injections. I'm too much of a wuss to try anything injectable!
I have already repurchased these Save Our Skin By Innoxa eye patches. Given my budget I don't use them every day obviously but I do use them the night before any special occasion that I need to attend. If you have any weddings or special parties to attend and want to smooth out your under eye wrinkles for a more youthful effect I can highly recommend these patches!
